Root Chakra (Muladhara )
Our journey through the chakra system begins with the Root chakra. Its Sanskrit name, Muladhara, means “root” or “support.” The Root chakra is depicted as a four-petaled lotus flower and it resonates to the color red.The Root chakra governs our physical needs and basic human survival issues. It is the energy center that stimulates and invigorates us! The red Root chakra is our motivating and driving force and it helps us to accomplish our goals.Without power in our Root we lack the passion in life and without passion, life is boring; however, with a strong Root chakra, life is exciting and full of action! When we have problems in the areas of our spinal column, hips, legs, knees, feet, prostate or vagina, bones, teeth, blood circulation, bladder, anus and rectum-it generally indicates low Root chakra energy. Likewise, if we are lethargic, lifeless, lacking motivation or feeling “disconnected”, these are conditions of low red Root energy. If you have any of these symptoms, it is time you boost your red energy to give power to your Root chakra! |
